Tip#4...Reflect on the past...But, let us not dwell on it....
I just finished watching the movie "Indian Summer". It's a movie about summer camp memories. Even though I did not attend summer camp the movie still moved me. Why? Because it encompasses so many facets of life's transition from childhood to adulthood. I have many fond childhood memories. Some are not so fond. I think most of us feel that way.
It is important to reflect on the past. But, if we dwell on it too long we cannot move forward. We end up thinking "ohhhhhhhh the good ol' days" as if there will never again be days that good. All that does is destroy our attitude today. I enjoy reflecting back. But, when we look back and think "things will never be that good again" we begin to deteriorate our present and the future. So, I encourage you to reflect on the good ol' days. But, look forward to today and tomorrow. Encourage someone today. You will be blessed more than they are if you are sincere.
